Hi everyone!!! This is an art supplies giveaway for me reaching an amount of followers I said I’d do a giveaway at!

Here are the things you’ll be getting, as you can see from the photo!

6” by 10” Sketchbook for both wet and dry media

A bottle of ink, you pick the color, I’ll order it from a specific site

A fountain pen that comes with the ink from the same site

11 colors of Cotman Winsor & Newton watercolors

3 brushes

A drawing of a subject of your choice to go on the first page! You might want to check my art out if you’re unfamiliar with me to see what types of things I usually do

And that’s that. I don’t use any of those watercolor tubes anymore, as I’ve replaced them each with higher quality tubes, so I thought: why not give them away? And I like the fountain pen I’ve been using so much that I think I’d like someone else to try it, too. I’ve also replaced the three brushes I’ve included here, so I don’t need those, either. And a drawing for good measure.

Here are the rules! Please follow these:

No giveaway blogs. I want more people to actually see this and have a chance at getting something; a lot of artists don’t have a lot of money…

You gotta use these after they arrive! I obviously can’t enforce this, but I want to see people not being timid! Make art! That’s what these are for. I know a thing that stops a lot of people is being scared they’ll mess up and waste expensive supplies… but if this is a gift, that shouldn’t matter!

My collie, Rooster, and my partner’s borzoi puppy, Derzhava, like to unwind all of their dogsprings at once when they get together. The other dogs all kind of hang back and stare. Highlights include Rooster displaying his Salad Tongs (tm), which are what collies have instead of proper jaws, and Zhava’s tongue flapping out the side of her head whenever she looks back to make sure she hasn’t left Roo completely in the dust. They are Very Elegant.

Well, so I’m not the best at making gifs that are small enough for tumblr and clear enough to show nice gradients. But you can download a higher quality (and slightly larger) work-in-progress gif here!

I don’t have a lot to say about the progress of this piece, but it was a new subject for me. Don’t get to paint enough waterfalls! I had this brush that is a tree shape that ended up being perfect for painting in the waterfall mist oddly. And I used the normal roundbrush more than I normally do. Got good critique and info about waterfalls from Vantid, which is good because I was originally painting a “small” waterfall based on how the water was falling. I promise, these are not miniature characters!

Not in love with the piece, but this is by far the most badass progress .gif I have ever seen. KABOOM.

Inspired by Anita Sarkeesian’s Video Game Tropes vs Women, I wanted to pitch a Zelda game where Zelda herself was the hero, rescuing a Prince Link.

Clockwork Empire is set 2,000 years after Twilight Princess, and is not a reboot, but simply another iteration in the Zelda franchise. It just so happens that in this case, Zelda is the protagonist. I’m a very big Zelda fan, and worked hard to draw from key elements in the continuity and mythos.

This concept work is meant to show that Zelda as a game protagonist can be both compelling and true to the franchise, while bringing new and dynamic game elements that go farther than being a simple gender swap.
